Birthday dinner

Food porn, again. Sorry, but I cannot resist it.

I celebrated my birthday last weekend. Nothing too fancy, just a good time with the nearest and dearest. First we went to museum to see an art exhibition of Andy Warhol (it was good, after all he IS the king of pop art!) and then dinner in nice restaurant. Some drinks after that in local pub. I had snails in garlic-herb-butter for first course, then pike perch for main course. It was all delicious. Happy bday for me!

Honyed carrot soup for lunch

Today I made some honeyed carrot soup for lunch and baked a bread to go with it. Soup is delicious, it is our family favorite: Healthy, easy to make and very budget-friendly. You can find the recipe hear.

Bread I made. It was still a bit soggy in the middle. Better luck next time. Looks pretty nice, though.

Sunny weekend

As I said before: The spring is finally here. It is not a heat wave, but in my Finnish point of view +10C in March is good enough. I spent the weekend gardening and barbequing, and had lots of fun!

Hotdogs!

My brand new pruning shears. In my garden there's an old rose and only these shears were storng enough to cut overgrovn, prickly bush. I also needed a good gardening gloves. Hard work, but it is nice to see the result.

Today I did a weekly cleaning. To celebrate I had to buy some lovely carnations.

Birthday party!

On Sunday we went to a birhday party. Charming little lady A turned 4. Oh boy, did we have fun!

Our gift beautifully wrapped. I love this colour green.

Birthday girl loves princesses, crowns and all pink & glittering stuff. So the theme of the parties was Princesses, ofcourse.

Marshmallows and cookies. My son absolutely loves those pink cookies and had propably tens of them. I was worried he would get sic in a car on our way back home, but he was fine.

Coffee it is

Oops, more coffee and beautiful cups! I had a cuppa with a dear friend, and the world is a better place for a little while.

My Favorite Coffee Shop

My favorite coffee shop in Tampere is Pannu&Huone, Pans & Room that is in English. It is located slightly offset from the city center, but it is well worth of nice little walk. Walk past amusment park Särkänniemi and when you see the old factory chimney you should be near by. The food in Pannu&Huone is heavenly good, but this time I was happy with just a coffee and cake. If I understand correctly, then all or of the cafe's interior is for sale. Place worth to visit.

This blog, or some versions of it, has been around for quite a while now. The Focus has been on the dogs, then on food, sometimes it has been written in English and then in Finnish. None of them, however, seemed to be just right.

But now it is time for something new! Our Own Cherrytree is mainly my notebook: a place where I collect ideas, photos and inspiration from everyday life. Welcome! And have a piece of apple cake!
